This is a program for high school or college students who are interested in learning more about health careers. The Omaha AHEC has relationships with health professionals across our service area (Douglas and Sarpy counties) who allow students to experience what it's like to be a health care provider by being onsite and observing daily job-related tasks.
Possible job shadowing sites include: Dental, Oncology, Chiropractor, Occupational Therapist/Physical Therapist, Nursing, Physicians Assistant, and many more. For more information or to get involved, please contact Jamal Morton at (402) 502-1207 or jmorton@ahecomaha.org.
The 5 Steps of Job Shadowing:
1. First, you need to complete the
job shadowing registration form
and the job shadowing survey and send to the Omaha AHEC
office. You can fax these form to Jamal Morton at (402) 502-3446 or email to

3. Then, click here for the job shadowing quiz.
4. Once we receive your quiz results, we will set you up with a health professional based on your availability.
5. After you have shadowed a health professional, click here for the job shadowing evaluation survey.
